Nancy Sliger
Nancy earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in chemistry from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. She is a 30 year retired public school teacher from Missouri who taught high school science and junior high science and math. She also worked as a curriculum director and map testing coordinator for 10 years before retirement. She has been with the Excel Center since 2018, teaching a wide variety of classes such as Physical Systems, Earth Science, Health/PE, Financial Foundations and Cornerstone. She loves teaching at the Excel Center and seeing the personal growth and excitement of her students and their hope of a brighter future.

Melissa Wakefield
I have received two Bachelor's of Science from SEMO, one in Political Science and one in Education. I taught in Missouri's public school system since 1998,. I began my career in education by teaching GED in the Prison system. I loved the idea of the Excel center since I heard about it. I see a huge benefit to the students and our society in offering this choice for attaining a diploma.

Melissa LaBerta
Melissa is a Life Coach at The Excel Center-St. Louis. Her passion is empowering adult learners through education, as they change the trajectory of their lives. She earned her BS in Human Services with a focus on Addiction Studies and Treatment, her MS in Human and Social Services and most recently a Post- Masters Certification in Higher Education and Adult Learning. Her professional experience includes; life coaching, academic advising, career development, mentorship, advocacy, and substance abuse prevention and treatment. Melissa favorite quote is "Every student is one caring individual away from becoming a success story!"

Meg Haw
Meg earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Communications from The University of Missouri-Columbia. She quickly realized that her passion was education and returned to school to gain her teaching certification. She has dual certification in English and Speech and Theater. While spending many years teaching in Missouri, she also ventured off to Mexico City to teach for 1 year before destiny brought her to the Excel Center.

Maggie Brotherton
Maggie earned her B.A. in Education from University of Missouri. She has over 30 years of teaching experience, most of which was in the public school system. "The Excel Center offers second chances for people who "want" to go back to school. Helping people who chose to better themselves is a true privilege. Who wouldn't want to be a part of that?"

Madelyn Ryan
Maddy has been teaching math at the Excel Center since 2018. She is a graduate of Lindenwood University, where she earned her B.A. in middle school education. Prior to teaching at the Excel Center she spent time teaching 8th grade.
