From Determination to Diploma: Tamika’s Journey at The Excel Center

At MERS Goodwill’s Excel Center in downtown St. Louis, stories of perseverance and transformation are written every day. One of those stories belongs to Tamika Ellis, a determined student who is now proudly part of the upcoming graduating class.

Tamika’s time at The Excel Center has been marked by hard work, growth, and a commitment to building a brighter future. With her diploma in sight, she’s excited to walk across the graduation stage this June—a moment that reflects not only her dedication but also the support and encouragement she found along the way.

Her journey is a reminder of why The Excel Center exists: to provide adults ages 21 and older with a second chance at earning a high school diploma in a supportive, flexible environment. With six locations across Missouri, the program continues to change lives every day.
