From Setback to Success: Adam’s Excel Center Journey

This June, Adam Plott will proudly walk across the stage at the Excel Center’s graduation—a milestone marking a powerful comeback. After leaving high school due to poor choices, Adam struggled with self-paced programs that lacked structure and support. Everything changed when a counselor friend introduced him to the Excel Center in 2019.

At first, returning to school felt strange, but Adam quickly found his rhythm thanks to small class sizes, supportive teachers, and a flexible structure that allowed breaks without losing progress. The eight-week classes kept him focused and motivated.

Today, Adam works as a funeral assistant and crematory operator—a role he never imagined but now finds deeply fulfilling. The Excel Center helped him learn how to set realistic, short-term goals, a habit that continues to fuel his success.

Just a week after earning his diploma, Adam received a raise and certifications at work. He’s even inspired two friends to enroll. His advice for anyone hesitant to take the leap? “You need to come to Excel.”

Backed by a strong support system—including his probation officer and colleagues—Adam’s graduation will be more than a ceremony. It’s a celebration of resilience, growth, and the power of second chances.
